Old Train Depot

Three photos I took of the old Michigan Central Depot with its Beaux-Arts facade. At the time of construction in 1913 it was the tallest rail station in the world. It was designed by the same firms that designed the New York City Grand Central Terminal.

The depot has not had train service since 1988 and as you can see has been left to deteriorate.

A couple years ago I was fortunate to work as an extra in the film Transformers 3 -Dark of the Moon directed by Michael Bay . The scene I worked on was filmed inside the old terminal. It was such a magnificent site and sure wished I had my camera but no pictures were allowed.

There is something fascinating about old deteriorating buildings that were once very beautiful. Best way to capture it I believe is through HDR photos.
